Nurturing social welfare specialists who are needed most in advancing citizens? welfare in the 21st century, this department offers career paths that are most promising in the near future, when the healthcare and welfare fields in Korea are expected to need many human resources.

The mission of the social welfare program is to produce social workers who have the skills, knowledge, and values needed to help people improve their social functioning and to work for social justice. The principle educational objective of the social work major is the preparation of undergraduate students for beginning level generalist social work practice. Included in preparation for generalist practice are skills and knowledge for lifelong active citizenship.
There are many elective courses which support the social work major. The nature of social work is such that all knowledge, skills, talents, wisdom, and life experience will be used. Students considering the social work major are encouraged to take advantage of the rich variety of offerings at Taekyeung University and take courses in other areas of interest.

Career paths

Specialist in a social welfare center, infant or pre-school children? nursing facility(nursing house), social welfare consulting center, mental institution, social welfare program office in a general hospital or other medical institution, or lifelong educational institution etc.
